Warm, herb-infused oils flow in rhythmic strokes – a daily ritual for longevity, passed down through three generations.
Book a consultation or ask our vaidya about Abhyangam. We’ll reply within 24h.
Abhyangam is the cornerstone of Ayurvedic daily care (dinacharya). At Ayurharsha, we follow the precise technique of our grandfather Dr. Lakshmaiah Sharma, using oils prepared with second‑generation bhasma infusions.
Warm oil penetrates the deeper layers (dhatus), improving circulation and lubrication. Ideal for vata disorders like joint stiffness and dry skin.
Rhythmic strokes soothe the nervous system, reduce cortisol, and promote deep, restorative sleep. Many guests call it “moving meditation.
Regular abhyanga strengthens ojas (life essence) and helps the body resist disease. It is recommended for all ages and constitutions.
By delaying the ageing process of the dhatus, abhyanga keeps the body supple, skin glowing, and energy levels high – a true rasayana.
Dr. Sambasiva examines your nadi to select the right oil blend – e.g., Bala for vata, Chandana for pitta, or a custom mix.
Two therapists work in synchrony, applying long strokes on the limbs and circular motions on joints. The oil is kept at a constant warm temperature.
After the massage, you rest for 15–20 minutes to allow the oil to penetrate. A herbal steam may follow to enhance detoxification (optional).
Duration: 60–75 minutes | Recommended in a series of 7, 14 or 21 days.
“My grandfather used to say that abhyanga is the mother’s touch you never outgrow. We still prepare the oil the same way – with 14 herbs, cooked for 48 hours.
— Dr. Sambasiva Rao Peteti (3rd generation)
